In The Hole.
Stuck in the hole & cannot get out?
Are you only just holding on?
Having spent a lot of time speaking with individuals who have been and are going through these struggles, thought I’d share some thoughts.
We can all agree, right now it is easier than ever to fall into a downward spiral.
With the world still in a state of uncertainty, the economy under more pressure than ever and alongside that, despite it being a health pandemic, all common sense towards good health practice is still being ignored.
Before you know it, it feels like the world is against you.
You have missed working out for a few days in a row.
You have stayed up at night a little later than usual on a few consecutive nights. .
You have been watching too much news and it is all doom & gloom.
You had a XL pizza, washed down with a few beers on the weekend.
This is all it takes to halt all momentum you previously built.
This is all it takes for you to feel like the world is against you.
Typically, this feeling of being lost, this feeling of being alone and helpless, is the result of a few bad decisions, which led to a few bad days in a row.
And, before you know it, you are at the bottom of a hole with what feels like no way out.
The good thing is, there is a ladder there for you, waiting for you to take the first step.
In a bad spot and need to turn things around?
Start concentrating on yourself and your self care again.
Make it a priority to exercise daily.
Make it a priority to get the required amount of sleep that you need.
Make it a non negotiable for you to eat healthy and nutritious food.
Get back to those foundations that are important for you.
On top of this, close down the news, go for a walk out in nature and clear your head.
Repeatedly do this, understand that there is always light at the end of the tunnel, and I promise the bad days will pass.
Plus, here is a reminder to call a friend or a family member today too. Do not put it off. It’ll be good for you, and for them.
We all need this.
